City Hall Gets a Sign That’s a Header Above

steel beam signWorking with construction firm Caldwell, Heckles & Egan (CH&E), Peifer Welding installed a massive steel beam sign in front of the Coatesville City Hall building. The 3 foot X 60 foot steel beam weighed 8,100 pounds. The 24-inch-high letters were waterjet cut out of .25 inch stainless steel that had been pre-polished to a #4 satin finish. 2-inch studs cut from 1/2″ round bar were welded to the backs of the letters, which were then welded to web of the beam.
